Create Your Own Side-Cam Mounting System

STEP 1: SELECT YOUR SIDE-CAM IMAGE QUALITY. 

50% reflection to camera, 50% transmission to eyepiece. Ideal for darker recording situations,or for those with poorer eyesight. 

75% reflection to camera, 25% transmission to eyepiece. Ideal for the professional who’slooking for better quality Recordings.

STEP 2: SELECT YOUR SCOPE HOLDER OR RING. 

To connect the side-cam to your scope, first choose one of the options below:

USH-46: This universal scope holder will allow you to connect any of our camera mounting systems to almost any scope from 40mm-46.5mm outer scope diameter. 

SHR-36    Scope pitch size M36 X 0.6

SHR-38   Scope pitch size M38 X 0.6

SHR-39   Scope pitch size M39 X 0.6

Any of our SCOPE HOLDER RINGS, (SHR) will allow you to connect any of our camera mounting systems to your scope.  

Please note: Before you select a SHR you will need to measure the inside diameter of your scope thread for your eye relief. 

STEP 3: SELECT YOUR CAMERA RINGS OR SMART PHONE HOLDER.

UMPH-90 + MPR-5 + MUN-1: Allows you to connect any mobile phone to your side cam.

UCH-1.1 & 1.2:  Allows you to connect almost any camera, camcorder or DSLR to your side cam.

SCR-100 RING ONLY + MUN-3:  Allows you to connect SONY MARK 1, 2, 3, 4, (Will not fit Mark 5 and over) DSC-WX500, DSC-WX500, DSC-HX80, DSC-HX90, DSC-HX90V,HX80, HX90, HX90V, HX100 to your side cam.

CCR-5.2 & 2.2 + MUN-3: Allows you to connect EX-ZR1600, EX-ZR3000, EX-ZR3500, EX-ZR3600, EX-ZR5000 to your side cam.

CCR-2.2 & 2.1 + MUN-3: Allows you to connect EX-ZR700, EX-ZR750, EX-ZR800, EX-ZR850, EX-ZR1700, EX-ZR2000, EX-ZR2100 to your side cam.

CCR-3 + MUN-1 + MUN-2: Allows you to connect EX-ZR1000, EX-ZR1100, EX-ZR1200, EX-ZR1300, EX-ZR1500 to your side cam.

CCR-1 + MUN-1 + MUN-2: Allows you to connect EX-ZR100, EX-ZR200, EX-ZR300, EX-ZR400, EX-ZR500 to your side cam.

GOPRO HOUSING 5,6,7 Black + MUN-1: Allows you to connect GOPRO 5, 6 and 7 to your side cam. 

Please note: You will not be able to use your GoPro directly without changing the lens to 12mm or 16mm Focal.

OTHER PARTS INCLUDED IN THE KIT:

DIY ACTION CAMERA RING + MUN-1 Allows you to connect any action camera by attaching our ring to your action camera housing with glue or screws, then to your side cam.

1x Lens Air Pump Dust Blower To maintain your kit properly.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The MUN-2, MUN-3 and MPR-5 come with (4) steel grub screws and (1) Allen key.

Please note: Not all SONY cameras are suitable for scope-cams, you will need to inquire / research further.

The USH-46 is designed to hold all the scope with or without threads on eye relief and will connect to our existing camera mounting system.

This unit can be connect to 99% of the scopes from eye relief outer with dimension of 40mm to 46.5mm and it will find the centre automatically while you are tighten it.

If you are using our magnet on your smart phone holder, please make sure the magnet does NOT affect your smart phone. Check on Google for information before you start using it. We take NO responsibility for this issue. 

Here are some valuable tips to help you get the best video quality recordings:

1. Use a good scope with a decent lens and larger Objective.

2. Use a quality camera for recording;
any action camera with a minimum HD ready at 240FPS is preferable.

3. Obtain a good quality fixed camera lens.

4. Ensure that your scope and camera are setup correctly.

5. Use less magnification with your scope; youwill notice improved quality by using a fixed magnification, e.g. 10×44
(We do not recommend over x 10 magnification with most common scopes on the market).

6. An optical zoom is preferred over a digital zoom, which makes a lower image quality.
